Pizza Flavored Toasted Bowtie Pasta Chips

Bowtie pasta boiled and then baked till crispy, tossed in a tomato, basil, and parmesan coating that tastes EXACTLY like pizza.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box farfalle pasta
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup tomato paste
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup parmesan finely grated
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  • On a parchment lined baking sheet, spread the ½ cup tomato paste out into a thin layer.

  • Bake for 4 hours until you are able to peel the paste off of the parchment paper in a dry sheet.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Boil 5 quarts of water in a pot. Heavily salt and add the 1 box farfalle pasta. Boil for 10 minutes and drain.

  • Lay all of the pasta in an even layer onto a paper towel and pat dry.
  • In a large bowl, toss the pasta in ¼ cup of olive oil.

  • In a food processor, add the dried tomato paste, 2 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 2 tsp dried oregano, 2 tsp dried basil, 2 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, ½ cup parmesan, and ½ cup bread crumbs.

  • Pulse until all of the ingredients are thoroughly combined and form a fine powder.
  • Add the powder to the pasta and toss together until they are all evenly and completely coated.
  • Spread the pasta out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle the remaining 2 tbsp olive oil over top and bake for 20 minutes.
